What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction is paying attention to the movement of the Spirit in your life with a trusted companion. The heart of this journey is to deepen your awareness of God’s presence and to dwell more fully in the love that sustains that relationship.
A spiritual director helps you discern the ways the Spirit is at work in you- inviting you to engage with questions like:
How is God Present to me?
How is the Spirit at Work in my life?
What to Expect
We will talk about everything as it relates to your experience of God. Spiritual direction differs from therapy or life coaching in that it is not remedial and focuses primarily on the soul and relationship with God, rather than on solving personal issues or achieving specific life goals.
We will pay attention to what it is like to experience, or not experience God, in the midst of your everyday life.
Spiritual direction is a contemplative practice rooted in listening prayer. I encourage you to engage in contemplative prayer outside of our sessions, allowing us to attune more deeply to the Spirit together. The expectation is that you come prepared to talk about what you notice happening in your soul and your current experience of God.

Once a month is a typical rhythm for most directees. However, meeting frequency can change depending on the season of life you’re in. Some people choose to meet more often for a time, while others prefer more space. We’ll find a rhythm together that feels supportive and sustainable.

Each session is scheduled for one hour. Our time together usually includes about 50 minutes of spiritual direction, with a few minutes for settling in and closing.
